What Types of Jobs are Out There?

There are many online jobs out there for students. Some of them are writers, editors, stock traders, virtual assistants for executives, illustrators, web designers, researchers and many more. Looking at your own talents, decide what may be the best job for you.

Another way to decide on an internet job is to look at your own major! If you, for instance, are majoring in finance, you may want to look at doing an online job as a stock trader or mortgage broker. It will not only give you experience, but will also give you a leg up in your classes, as you are getting that real world knowledge your class mates aren’t getting.

Watch Out For Scams

Anyone who has ever looked for an online job before knows that for every legitimate online job there is out there, there are probably two scams. This doesn’t mean you should give up, you just need to be aware of what you are up against.

The number one rule on scams and online positions are: if they ask for money upfront, they are likely a scam. You should never, ever pay to work for someone in any capacity and never, ever give your credit card number. You should also never give your driver’s license number, social security number, or any other information that would tell your identity without a written offer of employment.

Best Jobs For Students

As a student, you may be interested in what the best jobs for you are to get a bit of supplemental income. Though you probably won’t get rich, it will give you a bit of additional income to pay for books or other costs associated with school. Data-entry jobs are quite popular with students. Usually all you need to do data-entry online is a computer and high speed internet access. Many colleges offer this for free in dorms and other housing.

Other popular jobs for students are transcription jobs. If you have a good pair of headphones and able to type quickly, transcription may be the job for you. In most cases you are paid by the word and you will simply be listening to recordings and typing them out. This is something you can almost always do on your own time and not have a set schedule.

Remember, even though you may be working online and working from home, it is still important to be professional and take you your job seriously. You can certainly be fired from online positions just as easily as you can with any other job. If you want to get some extra money while in school or want to work on building your resume, working online could be the best option for you.
